South America
🇵🇾 Vaccines for Paraguay
Entry requirements & recommendations for travel to Paraguay
Paraguay requires Yellow Fever proof if arriving from an endemic country, and recommends it for travel outside Asunción, particularly to jungle border areas. Malaria risk is limited to border areas. Hepatitis A and Typhoid are recommended generally. Dengue is widespread throughout the country, including Asunción, and is the more relevant practical mosquito-borne consideration for most visitors than malaria. Paraguay is one of the less-visited South American countries for tourism, with Asunción and the Jesuit mission ruins (a UNESCO site) being notable attractions, alongside the Chaco region for those interested in remote wilderness. Healthcare in Asunción is reasonable for routine needs; rural areas have more limited facilities.
