Hepatitis A and Typhoid recommended. Yellow Fever is recommended and required for jungle regions in the Amazon — not needed for Lima, Cusco, or Machu Picchu. Malaria risk in the jungle lowlands. Altitude sickness is a practical concern for most visitors heading to Cusco and the Sacred Valley.

Book 4–6 weeks before travel. Yellow Fever vaccination must be done at least 10 days before entering risk areas as the certificate is only valid after 10 days. Hepatitis A and Typhoid can be done 2–3 weeks before departure. Malaria tablets need to start before entering risk areas.
