Entry requirements & recommendations for travel to Chad
Chad requires Yellow Fever vaccination for entry — a firm requirement. Malaria is endemic at high risk throughout most of the country. Hepatitis A, Typhoid, Hepatitis B, Meningococcal (Chad sits within the meningitis belt), and Rabies are also recommended. Chad's security situation varies by region — N'Djamena and some areas have relative stability, but most governments advise against travel to large parts of the country, particularly border regions with Libya, Sudan, the Central African Republic, and areas affected by Boko Haram activity near Lake Chad. Healthcare infrastructure is extremely limited, particularly outside the capital, and Chad ranks among the most challenging destinations from a healthcare access perspective.
