🇲🇿 Vaccines for Mozambique
Entry requirements & recommendations for travel to Mozambique
Mozambique requires Yellow Fever proof if arriving from an endemic country, and malaria is endemic at high risk throughout the country — Mozambique is one of the highest malaria-burden countries in the world, and antimalarial medication is essential for any visit, including to popular destinations like the Bazaruto Archipelago. Hepatitis A and Typhoid are recommended. Cholera occurs in periodic outbreaks, particularly following cyclones, which affect Mozambique periodically. Schistosomiasis is a risk in fresh water. Mozambique's coastline and islands are increasingly popular for diving and beach tourism, often accessed from South Africa. Healthcare in Maputo is reasonable; elsewhere, including popular coastal destinations, facilities are limited.
